As a Scottish Catholic, Lucian Miers will support Norway this Thursday. I think this is unwise, as we are sitting amongst the Northern Ireland supporters. I’ll have to explain to fellow members of the GAWA that Lucian is a Fenian, hence his sudden love-in with the land of Quisling. On shares, I look at Edenville Energy (EDL) and its new board member, Paul Ryan (remember him?). Then, I discuss Central Copper Resources, Cineworld (CINE), and Purplebricks (PURP), which, ceteris paribus, will go bust in a year.

The advisor to Remote’s largest shareholder Gareth Cave, who wants to kick the chancers off the board, said on Twitter: “I started in the City almost 35 years ago. I have never seen anything like the shareholder revolt brewing at #RMS”. It does look as if Paul Ryan and Trevor Brown will be getting the order of the boot. Cripes, things are so bad that even fellow spiv and a long time promoter of this stock, the Sith Lord Zak Mir, has turned on the board. That is not a rat jumping ship. That is a flea on a rat jumping off the rat after it has jumped ship.

On the BBC today, liberal media establishment poseur Andrew Marr stated that Donald Trump is what everyone is talking about. By that he meant Trump and "pussygate" and by everyone he meant the mainstream press. But is that what most folks are talking about and is that what the mainstream press should be talking about.

Mitt Romney has selected his choice for Vice President, his running mate. But picking Congressman Paul Ryan will not save him from electoral defeat in November. Obama is 7 points ahead in the polls and will win. At one level I say this with sadness as I think Obama is awful. At another with disinterest as I also think Romney is pretty dreadful.
Let’s start with Paul Ryan. He is young and photogenic and best known for his plan to balance the budget. He describes himself as a devotee of libertarian goddess Ayn Rand in a desperate attempt to pick up the Ron Paul constituency. But this is desperate stuff. It will not work.
Those of us who think Ron Paul is the answer to America’s problems do so because he ( as a true Ayn Rand devotee) would repeal legislation which has suppressed civil liberties (notably the Patriot Act), would end foreign wars and by cutting defence spending (20% of Government spending) as well as spending elsewhere really could balance the budget.
I have read Karl Marx. That does not make me a Marxist.
